Student Day

Broward County Student Day 2025-2026

Examination Dates:

December 6, 2025: In-person Written and Aural Theory exams

April 11-12, 2026: Performance evaluations

Students have the option to take the Written and Aural Theory exams online in Spring through FSMTA instead of the in-person exams; the fee and content of the exams remain the same. It is important to note that only students who complete the theory exams in December will be eligible for the special awards granted by BCMTA for the highest scores.

Registration Deadline:

November 8, 2025, for students taking in-person Theory Exams

March 1, 2026, for students taking online Theory Exams

Current membership dues of MTNA/FSMTA must be paid prior to the registration deadline for Student Day in order for a teacher’s students to be eligible to participate.

There are no specific age or length of study requirements. The program is open to the average student, pre-school beginner, transfer student, high school senior preparing to take college auditions, the late beginner, or even the adult or college student as well as the student with special needs.

The level at which a student enters Student Day each year is left to the discretion of the teacher and is based on the skill level and knowledge of the student. Transfer students may enter at any level without having passed previous levels. Students may skip levels if their teacher feels that they are competent at the new level. Students who have passed a level in previous years cannot repeat that level but must progress to a higher level.
